This is a 3in x 3in, 1-sided gift tag that I created for my co-worker Katie. Katie had made several mason jars full of homemade Kahlua that she was giving to family members for the holidays as gifts.
Katie had asked that the tags show a White Russian (a drink commonly made with Kahlua), say something fun, be one-sided so that she could hand-write a personalized message on the back, and say "Love Katie & Brett" at the end.
I illustrated Katie and Brett's faces using a photo of them that Katie provided. I masked an image of a couple sitting on a bench and placed their faces over it. The couple image was found on Unsplash (a free photo website). I illustrated Christmas hats and put them on their heads and placed them sitting on top of a White Russian. I then found a snowy background photo and placed that behind them. The ornaments where a graphic that NWMLS had in their stock image library (I got permission to use the ornaments). After talking with Katie and a few other co-workers we came up with a cute blurb to add to the tag. I chose to use Avant Garde and Harrington as my fonts because I felt they were "Christmas-y."
The tags were printed using the NWMLS digital press. We then used a drill to drill a hole punch into the top-left corner of the tags and Katie tied them to her mason jars using ribbon.
